Topics 2025

The Beilstein Nanotechnology Symposium 2025 is set to bring together leading experts and researchers to discuss groundbreaking advancements in targeted drug delivery, nano-mechanics, and bio-interface materials. This prestigious event aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and explore innovative solutions for healthcare applications.

The symposium will unfold into several key topics. One of the primary focuses will be on exploring novel methods for precise drug delivery to enhance therapeutic efficacy and minimize side effects. Additionally, the mechanical properties of biological systems at the nanoscale will be investigated to improve medical treatments. Researchers will also discuss the design of visible-light-driven metal-organic frameworks for advanced healthcare applications that utilize visible light for activation.

Innovative strategies for drug delivery, such as hitchhiker's and backpacker's methods, will be highlighted. The development of dynamic strategies for host-responsive medical devices will be another significant topic, emphasizing the importance of medical devices that can respond to the host environment. The symposium will cover the manufacturing of advanced responsive nanomaterials for effective cancer therapy.

Microelectronic morphogenesis will be explored, focusing on the creation of micro-origami robots and artificial life forms for medical applications. Advancements in biomaterials for the repair and regeneration of the cornea to restore vision will be discussed. The design of origami-paper microfluidic devices for accessible and rapid medical testing will be another key topic.

The symposium will also address the development of adaptable and eco-friendly electronics for future digital societies. The utilization of liquid metals for various biomedical applications will be examined. Researchers will discuss tuning and switching the binding properties of materials at the bio-interface for improved medical outcomes. Finally, the symposium will explore the biosynthesis of extracellular vesicles, harnessing nature's nanotechnology for therapeutic use.

This symposium promises to be a platform for sharing cutting-edge research, fostering collaboration, and inspiring future innovations in biomedical engineering and nanotechnology.

The Beilstein-Institut

The “Beilstein-Institut zur Förderung der Chemischen Wissenschaften” is a foundation based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Our mission is to promote the advancement of the chemical and related sciences. We believe the best way to achieve this is through open science practices. The results of all of our projects are freely available to the scientific community. We work with scientists worldwide on our open access journals, data standardization projects and symposia. Our core projects are: The Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry and the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology. These two diamond open access journals are interconnected with our organic chemistry, biochemistry and nanotechnology symposia, where the focus is on intensive scientific discussion and exchange. A key aspect of all our activities is the fostering of communication, collaboration and sharing of ideas between scientists.

Beilstein Nanotechnology Symposia

Since 2014 we are organizing the Beilstein Nanotechnology Symposia: A series of international conferences often inspired by a thematic issue in the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology or based on proposals from researchers around the world. The symposium is held in close cooperation with internationally renowned experts in the fields. The number of participants is limited providing a convivial atmosphere with a focus on an intensive and personal exchange between speakers and participants from undergraduates to senior professors.
