for participating in events of the Beilstein-Institut zur Förderung der Chemischen Wissenschaften

  • Every invitation by the Beilstein-Institut to speak at a Beilstein event is a personal invitation. The information sent to the invitees by the Beilstein-Institut is personal and may not be passed on without consulting the Beilstein-Institut.
  • Non-speaking participants are required to register and are obligated to pay a registration fee (if applicable) to the specified bank account no later than the date indicated on the event website. Participants who have not paid the registration fee will not have access to the conference room or any events related to the symposia.
  • The Privacy Policy of the Beilstein-Institut provides information on the data protection conditions for your participation.
  • All participants are encouraged to attend all sessions of the event.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the rights to distribute the content you share. Quotations must be correctly marked as such and properly cited. Permission to share copyrighted material must be obtained before distribution.
  • It is not permitted to record the event or parts thereof. The unauthorized recording of non-public conversations is punishable by law.
  • It is not permitted to publish personal information about other participants, such as address, email, phone numbers or images.
  • The prevailing conference language (English) should be used in all sessions and shared spaces whenever possible, so that all participants may engage fully and equally.
  • All participants are expected to contribute to a collegial, inclusive, and respectful environment. The Beilstein-Institut is committed to providing a safe and welcoming experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, physical condition, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, disability, marital status, political affiliation, income, or educational background. Any form of harassment, discrimination or defamation targeting individuals or groups based on any of the above-described characteristics will not be tolerated.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Racist, xenophobic, or otherwise discriminatory remarks, jokes, or behavior.

• Sexual harassment of any kind, including unwelcome advances, inappropriate physical contact, or the display of sexually explicit material.

• Bullying, intimidation, or the deliberate exclusion of others from professional or social interactions at the event.

  • The presentation or discussion of insulting, inciting, defamatory, pornographic or inflammatory statements, images or content is not permitted in any symposium setting, including talks, poster sessions, meals, and social events associated with the symposium.
  • The Beilstein-Institut reserves the right to take immediate action against any participant whose behavior is deemed to be in breach of these conditions. Depending on the nature and severity of the infringement, consequences may include one or more of the following:
  • A formal warning.
  • Immediate removal from the event.
  • Forfeiture of travel expense reimbursements or any other financial compensation that would otherwise have been provided by the Beilstein-Institut.
  • Rescission of any award or prize granted in connection with the event.
  • A ban from future Beilstein-Institut events.
  • Referral to the participant’s institution or, where applicable, to the relevant legal authorities.

Respect for and adherence to these conditions are essential for the success of our event. If you witness or experience any serious violation of this policy, please report it immediately to both the symposium organizer on site and the Beilstein-Institut Board of Directors. All reports will be treated with discretion.

Liability and Insurance

The Beilstein-Institut will not be liable for any accident, theft or damage to property, nor for any delays or modification in the program due to unforeseen circumstances.

Participants and accompanying persons are advised to arrange for their personal travel and health insurance.
