The dress of the meeting is casual/informal.

Photographs may be taken during the meeting which subsequently may be published on the Beilstein-Institut website and in our social media channels.

Travel

By plane to Frankfurt (Main), Cologne or Dusseldorf

Rüdesheim is located ca. 50 km west of Frankfurt airport which can be reached by almost all airlines from Europe and Overseas. Other airports close to Ruedesheim are Cologne and Dusseldorf.

From these airports, it is then possible to travel by train via Mainz and Wiesbaden to Ruedesheim. Please note the information provided under “By Rail”!

Low-price airlines fly to Hahn airport from where bus connections to Koblenz, Mainz and Frankfurt are available. However, I cannot really recommend travel via Hahn as this airport is located in the middle of nowhere and you may save some amount of money but will spend a lot of time to get to Rudesheim.

By rail

Unlike in the previous years, this year Deutsche Bahn created some challenges to reach Rudesheim as the railway tracks between Wiesbaden and Koblenz are under construction and thus closed for public transport.

A replacement service with buses has been implemented starting from Wiesbaden. This means that you can reach Frankfurt central station, change the train for Wiesbaden and then change again for the bus.

The service takes place every 30 min from Wiesbaden. Please refer to the screenshots (see below) for the overview and the details on which bus is dedicated to go to Rudesheim.

This information applies also for all flying in via Frankfurt airport. From here you can take the train to Wiesbaden and change to the replacement service.

More information about train/bus services can be found here: https://int.bahn.de/en/.

From the bus station in Rudesheim you either may walk to the chair lift that starts in the heart of the city of Rudesheim and proceed from the Niederwald monument to the hotel or call a taxi

Taxi Singh:+49 (0)6722 406515
Taxi Locke:+49 (0)6722 3333
Taxi Rheingau:+49 (0)6722 2877

Please also note that this year it is not possible to travel further to Assmannshausen in order to take the chairlift here up to the hotel. The chair lift is closed until the end of the year due to repair works.

For the return, the same applies. Take a taxi down to Rudesheim, Rheinhalle Nord, where the buses leave for Wiesbaden. Here, you can proceed by train to both Frankfurt central station and Frankfurt airport.

By car

Coming from Koblenz or Cologne. Take the autobahn A61, exit Bingen and take the ferryboat to Ruedesheim. Alternatively, take autobahn A61, change at "Dreieck Nahetal" to the A60 and drive in the direction "Mainz".
Change at "Dreieck Mainz" to the A643, in the direction "Wiesbaden, Frankfurt", cross the river Rhine and change at "Autobahnkreuz Schierstein" to the A66/B42, in the direction Rüdesheim.

Coming from Frankfurt airport. Take the autobahn A3 and drive in the direction Cologne. Change at "Wiesbadener Kreuz" to the A66, in the direction Wiesbaden.

The autobahn A66 becomes the B42 and leads you directly to Ruedesheim.
Use the following details for your car navigation system:
65385 Rüdesheim/Rhein, Tempelweg.

Note: Please make sure to not confuse Rüdesheim/Rhein with Rüdesheim (Nahe) near Bad Kreuznach.
