Travel

Location of the hotel

The Dom Hotel Limburg is located in the heart of the historic town of Limburg that dates back to its earliest reference in 910 AC. Limburg is almost on the half way between Cologne (100 km) and Frankfurt (70 km) and can be easily reached by car, train and plane.

By plane

Limburg is located ca. 70 km north of Frankfurt airport which can be reached by almost all airlines from Europe and Overseas. Other airports close to Limburg are Cologne (100 km) and Dusseldorf (160 km).

From these airports, it is possible to travel by train to Limburg.

By car

Limburg is located at one of the main north-south motorways, i.e. A3. Either whether you are coming from the north or from the south, leave A3 at exit "Limburg Süd" and turn into direction "Limburg". Follow the street down into the city. After you have passed the petrol station on the right ('ARAL') turn right into the next street (direction 'Eschhofen') and, again, at the trafflic lights turn right into Eisenbahnstraße. Follow this street which crosses under the railway bridge and makes a left-hander. Turn right at the traffic lights into Frankfurter Straße which soon becomes the Grabenstraße. After about 70 m the hotel is on the right side. The entrance is round the corner (Bahnhofstraße).

If you come from the east, e.g. Gießen, Kassel, Hannover, or Berlin, leave the A5 at the motorway junction 8 'Reiskirchener Dreieck', change to A480 and follow the signs to Limburg. You will be guided via B429 to B49 (later becomes B54) which brings you directly to Limburg.

In order to avoid navigating through the city and get lost in the many one-way streets, it is recommended  to change to the motorway A3 into the direction Frankfurt before entering the city. Leave the A3 at the exit "Limburg Süd" and follow the instructions above.

By train

Limburg has two train stations; "Limburg (Lahn)" for regional trains and "Limburg-Süd" for high-speed trains.

High-speed trains between Cologne and Limburg (Süd) and Frankfurt (Central Station and Airport) Limburg (Süd) won’t be available due to construction work from July 16 to August 12. ←

Coming from the north (via Cologne)
most appropriate trains run through the Rhine valley via Bonn and Koblenz. Change in Koblenz to Lahnstein and take the train from Lahnstein to Limburg. It’s a beautiful trip but takes some time. As a kind of a replacement there are some Express buses between Cologne and Limburg.

Coming from Frankfurt airport, take a regional train at the Frankfurt airport "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Regionalbahnhof" to Frankfurt central station and change to the regional trains (RB22 or RE20) to "Limburg (Lahn)". This train takes about 1 hr from Frankfurt central station to Limburg. From "Limburg (Lahn)" station it is a 10 min walk to the Dom Hotel. The entire trip takes about 1h 15min. Alternatively (which is also given by the Deutsche Bahn Travel planner), take the Bus X58 from Terminal 1 to Frankfurt-Höchst and change here to the regional train RB22 or RE20 to Limburg (Lahn).(https://tinyurl.com/4583et7a )

Coming from the south via Frankfurt central station, take the regional train to Limburg (Lahn) (RB22 or RE20). This train takes about 1 hr from Frankfurt central station to Limburg. From "Limburg (Lahn)" station it is a 10 min walk to the Dom Hotel. The entire trip takes about 1h 15min.

Exit the station, cross the bus terminal and enter into "Bahnhofstraße". Follow this street (which crosses a market place) and cross Grabenstraße. Then the hotel will be on the right hand side.
