Scientific Editor – Quality Control (Nanotechnology) (m/f/d)

 

Your tasks

Quality check of manuscripts submitted to the diamond open access Beilstein Journals including

  • Evaluation for plagiarism issues
  • Controlling for correct reuse of images and copyright issues
  • Checking for duplication issues
  • Initial decision based on the scientific quality of manuscripts


Your profile

  • PhD in nanotechnology/nanoscience, physics, physical chemistry or materials science (or a very closely related field)
  • Experience in scientific writing and publishing in the area of nanotechnology/nanoscience
  • Authorized to work in Germany
  • Excellent command of written English
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and in a well-structured way

Scientific Editor (Organic Chemistry) and Event Manager (m/f/d)

 

Your tasks

  • Quality check of manuscripts submitted to the diamond open access Beilstein Journals including evaluation for plagiarism, copyright, duplication issues and initial decision based on the scientific quality of manuscripts
  • Planning and organization of our events (symposia, webinars, workshops, etc.), including contributing to the selection of speakers and topics and communicating with international researchers by email, (video) meetings and in person
     

Must-have requirements

  • PhD in organic chemistry
  • Enthusiasm and availability to travel (within Germany) to our symposia, including possession of a German or European driver’s license
  • Authorization to work in Germany
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken (German is highly advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and in a well-structured way

 

Nice-to-have experience

  • Knowledge of materials science, physical chemistry or nanotechnology
  • Experience in scientific writing and publishing, especially with respect to open access
  • Experience with organization of scientific conferences
