Beilstein Research Scholarship Program 2012
On July 1, 2012, the Beilstein-Institut awarded scholarships to 15 young scientists to conduct their doctoral projects in the areas of nanoscopy, chemical biology, explorative catalysis, energy engineering, micro and nanostructures as well as material science.
These scholarship holders will conduct their studies at various universities, Helmholtz-Institutes and Max-Planck-Institutes all over Germany. Some of the projects that were selected this year, for example, focus on the development of affordable dye solar cells, the absorbance of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide employing the help of sunlight, the fabrication of semiconductors with a thickness of only a few nanometers, the investigation of active pharmaceutical ingredients and diagnostics as well as the synthesis of natural substances using enzymes.
Registration for two new Beilstein Symposia on Nanotechnology and on Organic Chemistry is now open
Topics are „Molecular Machines and Devices“ and „Molecular Switches“
