The Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry is a unique resource. It offers scientists the opportunity to publish their research free of charge in an open access scientific journal that is freely available online to any user worldwide.
The Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry is the first online journal published by Beilstein and covers all areas of organic chemistry. The journal is open to all authors to present their current research results; there are also no author or publication charges. Prior to acceptance and publication, independent and qualified reviewers carefully referee all manuscripts. As Open Access editions the articles are freely accessible worldwide.
BJOC is covered by Thomson Reuters and therefore included in the "Science Citation Index Expanded". The articles are abstracted by Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS).
The combination of automatic inclusion in PubMed Central, one of the world's largest free digital archives of full-text scientific journal articles, and indexing in PubMed, fulfils the deposition requirements of many funding agencies and brings BJOC articles to the attention of an interdisciplinary readership.
Editor-in-chief of BJOC is Jonathan Clayden (University of Manchester), who is supported by a distinguished board of associate editors, each of whom is responsible for a particular subject area within the journal’s scope. Under the chairmanship of Henning Hopf (Technical University of Braunschweig), over 40 scientists from all over the world, including several Nobel Prize laureates, support the Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry as Advisory Board members.
